Find a partner who really plays at your level.

Padel is played in doubles, always. Your score therefore depends as much on your partners as on you. Balzio does not look at who won: it asks the other three players, at the end of the game, what level you actually played at.

Free, no commitment. Nothing to download: Balzio opens in your browser and adds itself to your home screen in two taps.

Others measure the result. We measure the game.

Padel apps that compute a level deduce it from scores: you win, you go up. That is a reasonable method for an individual sport. Padel is not one.

A level deduced from the score

It measures your pair, not you

Paired with an excellent player, you win and you go up — without having played any better. Paired with a beginner, you lose and you go down. The ranking ends up describing your partners as much as your game.

A level observed by your peers

Three people watched you play

At the end of the game, each player says what level the others actually played at. The value kept is the median, never the average: a single outlying opinion, even a malicious one, moves nothing.

The end-of-game screen. Thirty seconds after the match, and everyone's level becomes a little more accurate — without anyone ever knowing who said what.

1

It works without a score

Most games between friends are never scored. A system based on results sees nothing of those matches. Balzio sees them all.

2

It works from day one

A ranking algorithm needs dozens of matches to settle. Here, three partners are enough to confirm your level.

3

It answers the real question

Nobody asks "who won" before accepting a game. They ask "does he play at my level". That is exactly the question put to your partners.

How it works

From signing up to the first serve.

01

Create or join a game

Open to everyone or reserved for your contacts, filtered by level, by town and by time slot. Spots that free up come straight back into the list.

Unlimited and free, always.

02

Play

Built-in messaging to sort out the details, without scattering the conversation across three different groups.

A directory of regular partners.

03

Fill in the end of the game

The score if you kept it, and above all the level you observed in the other three. Thirty seconds, and everyone's level becomes a little more accurate.

Anonymous, never attributed.

Clubs

Your padel club has a page. It is free.

Post your news, your tournaments and your free slots on your wall. The players who follow you see them in their feed. Nothing to install, nothing to pay, nothing to sign.

Today

You are visible

  • Club page: courts, opening hours, prices, contact, website
  • A wall of posts followed by players
  • Your courts attached to the games created there

You keep your own courts, prices and opening hours: no public source holds them, and nobody else knows them.

Next

You will know what it brings you

  • How many players follow you
  • How many games were created at your club
  • Which slots are short of players
  • Running tournaments

They are coming, and will stay free for as long as Balzio brings no players to your club.

We are looking for twelve players.

Balzio works and can be used right now in your browser. To publish it on Google Play, we need twelve players actually using it for two weeks. If you play regularly on the French Riviera, your opinion will be worth more than ten meetings.

Frequently asked

What people ask us most.

How is my level calculated?

You state a level when you sign up, on a scale from 0 to 7 in half points. As soon as three different players have rated you at the end of a game, the median of their judgements takes over. Only ratings from the last twelve months count, and each rater counts once — otherwise a regular partner would weigh more than an opponent met once.

Can I see who rated me badly?

No, and nobody ever will. You see a median and the number of players who confirmed it. The detail is exposed nowhere, neither in the app nor in the export of your data. Without that anonymity, nobody would dare be honest and the rating would no longer measure anything.

Can a spiteful player drag my level down?

No. The value kept is the median, not the average: an extreme opinion ends up on the edge and moves almost nothing. It would take a majority of your partners agreeing, which would amount to saying they all observed the same thing.

What about national rankings?

No connection, and that is deliberate. The French tennis federation's padel ranking rests on the twelve best results of the last twelve months in sanctioned tournaments: it exists only for players in competition. The Balzio scale concerns everyone, from the first lesson to national level. If you are ranked, you can show your official ranking on your profile, alongside. Our guide explains what the P25, P50 and P100 categories mean: organiser un tournoi de padel (in French).

Does Balzio replace my booking app?

No. Balzio does not book courts and does not try to. Book wherever you usually do, come here to find who to play with. The two uses do not get in each other's way.

Is my data sold?

No. No data is passed to third parties, and there is no advertising profiling. Your location is never stored: it is asked for only if you tap "around me", serves for the length of one search, and disappears. You can refuse without losing anything else. Everything is hosted in France, at OVH, and you can export your data or delete your account permanently from the app.
